Fierce Vulnerability Lecture

  • Hybrid (in-person & virtual) Event University of Victoria Victoria, B.C. Canada (map)

This presentation imagines a movement that sees injustice as a manifestation of collective trauma and therefore understands that we can’t “shut down” injustice any more than we can “shut down” trauma. We imagine building such a movement at a time of social, ecological and economic collapse.

In this session, Kazu Haga helps us hold the question, “How do we encourage educators, learners and activists to rethink their roles not as ones responsible for creating change, but as active participants in a larger, earth-centered process of transformation?

After the presentation, Kazu Haga will present a fireside food-share/lunch for BIPOC community members in HSD A250 (the same room) from 12 pm - 1:30 pm. This portion of the day is by invitation only.

Part of the University of Victoria’s Climate, Complexity & Decolonization Speaker Series.
Free Event.
